In this time the growing baby will place an incredibly high nutritional demand on mum, drawing all of their needs through the placenta. Ensuring nutritional requirements are met ahead of birth is pertinent for labour and birthing. Yet, throughout ~40 weeks we may also address a number of common pregnancy concerns, some of which are highlighted here below. Targeted therapies may be via nutritional supplementation or with the careful use of pregnancy-safe herbal medicines.
- Morning sickness
- Sleeplessness, fatigue and stress
- Cramping and restless legs
- Hypertension and preeclampsia prevention
- Gestational diabetes prevention and maintenance
- Prevention of miscarriage
- Placental issues
- Preparation for birth, discussion around analgesia
- Support in recovery and breast feeding
In the weeks nearing birth, specific formulations and strategies can be employed to prepare uterus tone, aid cervical softening and prevent tearing. The goal is to lead you to an easier, uncomplicated and empowering birth.
After birth the immediate aim is to assist with recovery and healing, no matter how your baby might have arrived. Megan has experience with complications like post-partum haemorrhage, healing from a tear/episiotomy, endometritis and infection prevention, and c-section recovery.
During this time we also work together to promote strong milk flow, help with sleep, address any post natal blues and enhance energy.
Each individual’s unique pregnancy and birthing goals is respected. Megan’s empathic approach provides uncompromising care in this delicate phase. Her professional experience enables clients to have much trust in partnering with Megan as an ally and advocate throughout this journey.
